Hitman is a series of video games about theft, developed by Danish company IO Interactive, previously published by Eidos Interactive and Square Enix. IO Interactive remained a subsidiary of Square Enix until 2017, when Square Enix began searching for buyers for the studio, in June 2017 IO Interactive completed its acquisition of management, gained its independence and improved Hitman’s rights. The series is available on Microsoft Windows and several video game consoles, including PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation Vita, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The franchise also includes two novels and graphic novels: “Hitman: Enemy Within”, written by William K. Dietz, followed by “Hitman: Curse”, written by Raymond Benson, and comics “Agent 47: Hitman’s Birthday”.

The 2007 film adaptation, on the basis of the game’s story, was poorly received, but was a financial success. Another film, Hitman: Agent 47, released in 2015, also received negative reviews.

The game centers around Agent 47, a serial killer of contract, whose perfect record makes him in demand among the rich and the elite as he kills many of the world’s most famous criminals. The first screenwriter was Morten Iversen, who authored the pictures of Hitman: Codename 47 and Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. He has also contributed to Hitman: Treaties with Hitman: Blood Money. The game features a mix of orchestral and electronic music created by Jesper Kyd. The fifth episode of the series, Hitman: Absolution, was released on November 20, 2012. The game-spin came from PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 under the name Hitman: Sniper Challenge. For mobile phones and tablets, the backbone game developed by Square Enix Montreal was launched as a conversion strategy game called Hitman Go. Another game dedicated to mobile devices, Hitman: Sniper, features the first sniper game. The sixth game called Hitman was released weekly, the first episode was released in March 2016, and the last in December 2016. The seventh game, Hitman 2, was released in November 2018.

Call of Duty is a first-person video game franchise released by Activision. Since 2003, the first focus has been on games created during World War II. However, over time, the series saw games taking place in modern times, in the midst of the Cold War, futuristic worlds and space. The games were first developed by Infinity Ward, then by Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games. Several developers have made several spinning and hand games. The last title, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, was released on October 25, 2019.

Initially, the series focused on World War II, where Infinity Ward developed the first (2003) and second (2005) titles in the series, and Treyarch the third (2006). Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007) introduced a new, modern setting and was the breakthrough title of the series that created the subseasons of Modern Warfare. The legacy of the game also influenced the creation of a revised version released in 2016. Two more recordings were released, Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and 3 (2011). The subseasons smoothly restarted with Modern Warfare in 2019. Infinity Ward has also developed two games outside the Modern Warfare subset, Ghosts (2013) and Infinite Warfare (2016). Treyarch made the last game of World War II, World at War (2008), before releasing Black Ops (2010) and then created the Black Ops sub-sisters. Three more shots were taken, Black Ops II (2012), III (2015) and 4 (2018). Sledgehammer Games, co-developers of Modern Warfare 3, also developed two titles, Advanced Warfare (2014) and World War II (2017).

The series has sold over 250 million copies since February 2016. Sales of all Call of Duty games were $ 15 billion. Other products from the franchise include a series of action figures designed by Plan-B Toys, a card game created by the Upper Deck Company, sets of Mega Blocks from Mega Brands and a series of mini comics published by WildStorm Productions.
